About:
"Individual adaptiveness without organizational embedding is just a leaf in the wind."
Organizations face a high demand for adaptability today, be it in moments of shock and crisis or as a general requirement for keeping up with societal change. To improve individual employees in their adaptiveness skills is one key element for success. However, plenty of workshop enthusiasm is usually blown away when participants hit the everyday organizational life the day after. It is the organizational context, that turns individual skills into a sustainable organizational resource.
I enable managers and organizational clients for both: raising individual’s adaptiveness skills on the one hand and developing a formal and cultural frame which supports and furls these skills to a long lasting organizational capability. Especially for crisis situations, I support organizations in developing and relying on improvisational skills, and building a more resilient organizational structure from emergent order for post-crisis and post-disaster periods.
For that purpose, I capitalize on a unique combination between organization theory, the mind- and skill-set of Applied Improvisation and further aesthetic resources like theatre, or surrealist paitings.
I am an electrician, a social worker, studied business administration in Germany and the UK. After my phd, I established the Centre of Exelence in Corporate Development at the University of Applied Science in Bern, Switzerland. Since 2011 I teach, train, coach & consult as Professor of Management and Organization at Vlerick Business Brussels, School Belgium.
