What is included in the conference packages?

Conference Package A includes (for one conference attendee) the full conference programme; single room en-suite accommodation on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, with breakfast and lunch on Sunday; refreshments throughout the conference; all the evening entertainments.

Conference Package B includes (for two conference attendees) the full conference programme; double or twin room en-suite accommodation on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, with breakfast and lunch on Sunday; refreshments throughout the conference; all the evening entertainments.

Conference Package C includes (for one conference attendee and one non-attendee) double or twin room en-suite accommodation on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, with breakfast and lunch on Sunday; refreshments throughout the conference; all the evening entertainments. And (for one conference attendee) the full conference programme.

Conference Package D includes (for one conference attendee) the full conference programme; refreshments throughout the conference; all the evening entertainments.

I would like to book option B or C

Unfortunately, Package B and C are sold out. You will need to register individually and we will do our best to accommodate you in adjacent rooms. Please contact us at appliedimprovnetwork@gmail.com and tell us about your requirements.

Can I book for individual days at the conference?

Yes. You can book them on our Eventbrite page.

I'm having trouble with the booking form and/or Paypal.

You need to be a member on the website in order to complete the booking form.

If you cannot pay via Paypal, please also contact us via email so that we can arrange an alternate form of payment.

How do I choose the sessions I would like to attend at the conference?

On the spot! You don’t have to sign up in advance for the sessions you would like to attend.

Is there a bookstore where I can buy and sell books related to Applied Improvisation?

We’ll have a book table at the Conference. Exact location TBA. If you have a book (or other resources) that you’d like to show or sell to participants, please bring along as many as you wish.

We will provide a table space only; sales and transactions will be arranged and overseen by yourself or in collaboration with other authors.

The Sorting Hat:

You can also give away a copy of your book or a free coaching session or a T-shirt or other good stuff in a ‘Sorting Hat’ promotional raffle, which we’ll arrange free for all attendees. We have already got some lovely contributions.

What is your cancellation policy?

Refund Policy:

If you cancel your registration prior to July 1st, 2016, you will receive a full refund minus administration costs (£30). On and after July 1st, 2016 registration can be refunded 50%. On and after August 1st, 2016, registrations are non-refundable.

We do accept substitution, when given notice. Refunds will be processed within 30 days after we have confirmed the cancellation.

The organising team reserves the right to cancel the conference and allocate the accumulated costs due to natural disasters, strikes, civil disorder, war, government regulations, curtailment of transport facilities, supernatural interventions or other emergencies that make holding the event inadvisable, illegal or unfeasible. The conference programme may be subject to change without notice, and we will try to keep you updated.

Learning Journeys

Can I book for the conference without a Learning Journey or a Learning Journey without the conference?

Yes, you can.  You can book for the conference without a Learning Journey by visiting our Booking page.  We are currently setting up a Eventbrite page for people who are not planning to attend the conference to book Learning Journeys directly.

I have paid. How do I choose the Learning Journeys I would like to attend?

Once you have paid for the Learning Journeys through our website, you will receive a CODE and a link to our Eventbrite page where you can register for your Learning Journey of choice, including the 2-day Humanitarian Conference.

I have not paid. How do I sign up for Learning Journeys?

If you have not yet paid for the Learning Journeys through our website, you can sign up and pay on ourEventbrite Page.

Is there still space on the Improvisation and Mindfulness Learning Journey?

All Learning Journeys are booked on a first come first serve basis. This Learning Journey is now fully booked and we are not keeping a waiting list. Please book on to another Learning Journey. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I attend the Humanitarian Conference for one day only?

We are giving priority to attendees who book for 2 days. We are keeping a waiting list for members who want to attend one day only, however, there is no guarantee that a space will become available. We suggest you either book and attend both days or book a different Learning Journey for both days.

Is accommodation included when I sign up for the Learning Journeys?

No. Accommodation is not included in the price for Tuesday and Wednesday nights. You can book extra nights with Keble College or make alternative arrangements.

If you are attending the main conference, accommodation is included in packages A, B, and C for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.

Accomodation

What time can I check into my room from?

Check-in at Keble College lodge from 14:00 Thursday 11th August.

If you arrive late, ring the doorbell and the night guard will sign you in.

I am arriving early. Is there a safe space to store my luggage?

Yes. Keble college provides luggage storage on the day. Please ask at the reception desk.

What time do I need to check out of my room?

Check-out by 10:00 Sunday 14th August
Note: The conference will continue into Sunday afternoon.

Can I stay for longer at Keble College?

Keble College operates as a Bed & Breakfast outside of term time. Contact them directly to extend your stay (either before or after the conference)

Can my children stay with me at Keble College?

Unfortunately no. We can only accommodate a few couples on a first-come first-served basis

Can I share a room with a friend/partner?

There are no twin rooms available and a limited number of double rooms available on a first-come first-served basis.

Will there be wifi at Keble College?

Yes.

Location & Transport

How do I get to Oxford?

Arriving by air

London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports are linked by Oxford Bus Company’s Airline service which operates 24/7.

London Stansted and Luton airports are linked by the National Express 737 bus service.

Birmingham airport is connected by train to Oxford with regular fast services available. Visit the National Rail Enquiries website for timetables and fares.

London Oxford Airport (OXF) is located just 8 km north of the city centre, near Kidlington and Woodstock.

Arriving by bus

Fast and frequent bus services provide a direct link between central Oxford, Oxfordshire and central London. Stagecoach and the Oxford Bus Company have a range of services to get you to your destination.

  • The X90 service (all day and most of the night)
  • The Oxford Tube (24/7)

These journey takes approx 100 minutes – longer during the rush hour.

Arriving by train

A frequent direct train service operates from London Paddington to Oxford (approx. every 30 minutes) and from Birmingham New Street via Banbury and Coventry.

The line to Didcot allows access to Radley, Appleford, Swindon and Reading.

There is also a regular service between Oxford Parkway (station opened October 2015 at Water Eaton Park & Ride near Kidlington) and London Marylebone via Bicester.

The Cotswold Line runs through Oxford to Long Hanborough, Finstock, Charlbury, Ascott-under-Wychwood and on to Worcester. The line to Leamington Spa services villages to the north such as Tackley and Lower Heyford as well as Banbury.

Arriving by road

The M40 and M4 + A34 provide easy access by car from London, leaving the M40 at Junction 8.
The M40 links Birmingham to Oxford from the north, leaving at Junction 9.

Parking in Oxford is limited so most day visitors take advantage of the Park and Ride service which was pioneered in Oxford. All five Park and Ride sites are clearly signposted from the Oxford Ring Road.

How do I get to Keble College?

With excellent links to London, all main airports and rail stations, Oxford is an easily accessible destination.

Keble College is located in the heart of the city of Oxford directly opposite the University Museum and University Parks and just a gentle stroll from the Sheldonian Theatre, Bodleian Library and Blackwell’s bookshop. There are many interesting pubs and a wide selection of restaurants to suit all tastes.

Keble College is within walking distance of both the train and bus stations. If you are coming by car, please use the city Park and Ride.

There is no parking at Keble.

Can I drive to Keble College and park there?

Unfortunately Keble College is unable to offer parking to its guests.
For those staying overnight free parking is available on the streets bordering the College between 22:00 and 08:00. Parking outside of these times will require a pay and display ticket to be purchased. Failure to do so is likely to incur a considerable fine. All guests are advised to check restrictions carefully.

What will the weather be like?

The weather can be in unpredictable, with weeks of either continuous rain or joyous sun greeting visitors.

However, the average maximum does stand at 22°C. and sometimes it may climb to above 30°C. Between June and September the regular low temperature stands at 13°C and sometimes thunderstorms are experienced.

 

What clothing do you recommend I pack?

We recommend you pack clothes that are easy to layer. As one day it could be scorching hot. The next, it could be cloudy and rainy.

On a cooler day, you will need

  • Jacket/rain coat
  • Light cardigan/ jumper
  • Jeans/trousers
  • Trainers

On a hot day, you will need

  • Sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Shorts
  • T-Shirts
  • Light jacket (for the evenings)

If you do forget something, not to worry. Keble College is very central to Oxford and there are many shops near by.
